According to L. Perrois' morphological approach, this small female reliquary figure might belong to the southern Fang group, including the Okak. The Okak style puts the accent on compact and stocky forms with proportionately large heads. This small compact figure was modeled in a realistic manner. The full breasts and protruding naval indicate fertility and connection to the acestors. Her coiffure is made of a broad horizontal band with four pointed braids. The statue is black and highly polished.
